Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back, while the other crawled in the playground. I worked 12 hour days, for months, sanding and removing wallpaper, while carrying one kid. Ha! Ha! It all started to seem logical, however it was still far from being finished. To furnish the home, it was going to be a huge effort both in time and money. I would also have to go out and shop for my most-loved items. For my budget to remain sound, I travelled with three of my boys to look for bargains in estate sales. We used to go on a weekly basis to visit garage sales and auctions on Sundays and Saturdays as well as purchase various of furniture, both new and old made. My work days were spent in the driveway working on painting or sanding. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I found my love to restore. Once our home was furnished, I still couldn't quit! There was a market in the area for me to sell pieces. In the end, I had lots of pieces, I didn't think of a solution and my storage space was a mess. There were open houses at my house that saw more than 1 000 visitors could visit in a single weekend and could purchase anything they wanted in the first floor. Growing Days is the result of all this. Not only was my business thriving but I was growing our sweet family as well. The balance was between starting a new business as well as being a mom. Growing Days was the obvious decision. In 2013, my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th baby. It was a great direction for my business, but I also needed some time off. I decided to take some time off from my vintage furniture and remain at home with the children. It was time. But after a couple of months off the phone started to ring. There were calls from people asking me to help them with decorating their homes and interiors. These people had mostly attended my house during the open houses to purchase furniture. I began to take on clients at a time working at my own pace however it wasn't long before I had several accounts, and I was operating the complete business of home remodeling. If you'd told me that this business that I started would become the basis of a television show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have laughed. When I look at it, it has made me smile.
