Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is a American pro basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wings drafted her with the fifth selection of this year's WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997, was the daughter of Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are two of her brothers. She was the eldest child in her family and her parents spoiled her the most. Gregory, her father, was in her father's army, the Nigerian Army quite a while. Ogunbowale was raised within a family that was busy. She has a mother Yolanda and her brother Dare both played softball while at DePaul. Her aunt played volleyball for UAPB in the past, and Endia is a Volleyball player in Tennessee State. Her name was listed on the honour roll of her school three consecutive years. In addition, she was recognized for her accomplishments in high school and received numerous awards. Arike was awarded her diploma at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School which is located in her hometown. She was also a part of three varsity seasons while studying there. Ogunbowale, with her extraordinary talents and capabilities, led her team to incredible victories numerous times. High schooler Ogunbowale has made 73 appearances and accumulated 1,477 rebounds and 1,477 rebounds throughout her playing career. Ogunbowale managed to take home gold in 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championships as well as 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships. The 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team was announced on the 7th July 2014. Ogunbowale has also been selected to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first collegiate campaign. The coach even thanked Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant after she hit several big shots at the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale is not a newcomer to basketball, but she has rapidly established herself. She's also a soccer player and won three State Cup championships for the Lake County United Soccer Club. She even studied piano for seven years.
